Hello! I’m Ziv Epstein and I’m a graduate student in the Media Lab. My work integrates aspects of design and computational social science to model and understand cooperative systems. I focus on new challenges and opportunities that emerge from a digital society, particularly in the domains of artificial intelligence and social media.
In particular, I believe that humans and machines are locked in a feedback loop of interaction on the web. Algorithmic decision-making affects human behavior, and in turn human behavior affects algorithmic decision-making. I am interested in exploring this interplay, especially in applied forms such as curbing algorithmic bias, reducing the proliferation of misinformation, and exploring new forms of social mediation.
